RESIDENCE : varies depending on verse. by default, he has connections to South Korea (via parents), Japan (via birth/citizenship), and Russia (via family).OCCUPATION : cultist, member of the criminal organization Akatsuki ( verse-dependent. however, regardless of verse, Hidan will be entangled in some criminal organisation or other, to a larger or lesser degree ). unemployed for tax purposes.RELIGIOUS VIEWS : fanatical devotion to his cult, whose main decrees are 'an eye for an eye', 'all creatures are inherently guilty, violent, and destined for death', 'death too shall be earned', 'only through pain can one reach enlightenment', and a necessity for human sacrifice ; essentially a twisted bastardization of some parts of christian dogma in the worst possible ways ( original sin, patience in suffering, conversion of non-believers, etc. ), mixed with various patterns of violence spread across major religions. disdainful of ( and sometimes actively hostile toward ) other religious views, albeit showing a surprising understanding of many of their scriptures. believers of a different faith remain preferable to heathens, or god forbid, atheists.
APPEARANCE : bottled ash-grey blond ( originally black ; roots will sometimes show, depending on his laziness in the upkeep ). purple contacts ( medium brown eyes ). 177 cm / 5'8 feet. muscular built. a mess of an aesthetic style, but generally darker shades ( see Pinterest ). often bloodied, busied, or injured in some capacity, although boasting excellent durability and stamina.SEXUAL / ROMANTIC ORIENTATION : pansexual / demiromantic.BRIEF INTRODUCTION : Although he is two years past twenty, Hidan exhibits an appalling refusal to 'grow up' that, for the most part, does not manifest itself in a good manner. He is ridiculously immature and irresponsible (his most obvious traits). Often, he still behaves like a hormones-and-adrenaline driven adolescent... one with a dangerous amount of freedom ( that he should never have been entrusted with. that he will defend with both fists and teeth. ).Headstrong, conceited, fanatical, careless of most conventions, and rather eccentric both in manners and worldviews, he has his own ideals, his own convictions, and his own rules for the game. This code of conduct is followed to a 't', even if ( perhaps because ) it often goes against societal norms.In other news, he is the only son of a normal working-class bureaucrat and a stereotypical housewife. He no longer lives at home, but in a cheap, tiny 4th floor studio whose rent is always paid late, but with surprising regularity.Feel free to ( attempt to ) wash his mouth with soap.

NOTEWORTHY TRIVIA➹ Hidan's upbringing was perfectly normal, in a loving, middle-class family that did its best to support him ( in all the ways they knew how ). he shows his gratitude by never visiting them, nowadays.➹ has a criminal record, although nothing too serious.➹ always in possession of his rosary, a lighter, a pack of cigarettes, and a switchblade.➹ similar to how, in the manga, Hidan's worldview was shaped by the changes that his village had undergone (opting to become a peaceful state and disentangle itself from warfare), his modern worldview is shaped by the historical conflicts between Korea and Japan.➹ it's important to know that whilst Hidan is a villain, he is not the villain of his own story. through his own perception, he is rather the saint and prophet of his religion. his religious zeal is neither an excuse nor surface-level. in spite of some of his rather more. . . questionable behaviours. . . . he perceives himself as something akin to the wrath of his god and his judgement.➹ Hidan's mood can fluctuate with surprising rapidity, as well as seem inappropriate / peculiar at times. it's easy to assume this is due to poor emotional regulation. Whilst this is partially true, it is also the product of an undiagnosed ( and hence untreated ) affective disorder.

00. I've been writing Hidan on and off, on various platforms, for over a decade ( feels crazy to write this, honestly! ). He is one of my longest-standing and delved-into muses, fleshed out through various interactions, as well as personal headcanons and additions. As such, he doesn't necessarily follow fanon interpretations, and I do my own little wild thing with him. Whilst I welcome criticism of my portrayal, at this point, he is (for all intents and purposes) as close to my original character as he ever could be ( as well as my special little mew mew, whom I love to torture as much as possible ).Now onto the typical guidelines . ..01.
